The Junior Girls Basketball Cardinals won the Aquinas Classic 2002 Basketball tournament for the first time October 4th and 5th, 2002. They won as follows:

30-28 Win Over Notre Dame Knights
41-33 Win Over Rick Hansen Storm
44-11 Win Over Robert Hall Wolfpack

The Cardinals were down 21-9 at the end of the 1st quarter against the Rick Hansen Storm in the semi-final, but shut down the Storm and battled back to tie the score 32-32 after three quarters and then pull out the victory in the 4th quarter. There would have been more pictures, but Dr. J is unable to film during a close game because of old age and nerves.
