Above: Île Saint-Louis, right across from Île de la Cité, a quieter, expensive residential area for the wealthy, with a few excellent ice cream shops.
1 to 5 show the view from the Pont des Arts bridge over the Seine River to the Île de la Cité (the birthplace of Paris in about 250 BC), including many
"love locks", where romantics look in their love ... many bridge railings are covered in plastic to prevent locks being placed on most of the bridge.
6 to 8 show strolling along the Seine River, including one of many book and souvenir sellers there.
9 is the Palais du Justice, originally the Royal courthouse in the 1600's, now France's highest court for ordinary cases.
