On Day 3, Donna, Andy and myself drove down Highway 1 towards Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. We stopped at Pigeon Point and its lighthouse built in 1871, with the
Fresnel reflecting light holding 1008 hand-polished lens; saw miles of sandy beaches with almost nobody on them, except a few surfers and lot of birds; Lover's Point
in Pacific Grove; 17-Mile Road, featuring multiple chi-chi golf courses, Spanish Bay, China Rock, Bird Rock, Seal Rock, Cypress Point (as seen in Vertigo), the 250 year old
Lone Cypress, several Ghost Trees and Pebble Beach Golf Links. We ended the day with sunset, Lobster Bisque and art galleries in Carmel-by-the-Sea, before returning to
our Airbnb.
