On Day 1 of Dr. J's trip to Greece, the plane arrived mid-day in Athens and it was off to the historical area of Athens by mid-afternoon. Walking from the Titania Hotel, Dr. J hit the The Library of Athens, the University of Athens building, the Academy of Athens, the changing of the guard at the Parliament Building, the National Gardens, the Temple of Zeus, the southern part of Plaka and quiet neighbourhood Anafiotika.

Above: A view of Athens from the bus coming from the airport. The haze over the city is primarily from car pollution, but supposedly it is better than it used to be.
