Madeira Island
October 2, 2019

On Day 3, another humourous guide and driver Louis took us on a tour of central and northwest Madeira Island, even incorporating some of the same jokes ... there are no snakes on Madeira Island, except the ones in Parliament ... there are three kinds of mushrooms on Madeira, but one type you can only enjoy once (because that one is poisonous, get it).

This tour started in Funchal, with the first stop at the fishing village of Camara De Lobos, next going to the glass bottomed lookout at Cabo Girao, then over to the valley town of Ribeira Brava, next up the mountains to the 1004 metre high Encumeada pass, down to the coast and then a nice drive to Porto Moniz. After lunch and a long stop, it was back up the mountain to Miradouro and ending up in the coastal town of Calheta Beach, before returning to Funchal.
