Above: Bananas are being grown on the land beside the off ramp of the highway ... Madeira strives to avoid wasting any flat land, being there is not much of it.

1 is the 18th century St. Martin Church, high on the hill on the west side, that can be seen from nearly anywhere in Funchal.
2 the Portuguese and especially Madeira, loves their tiles.
3 to 5 show the light and fountain show at the Savoy Hotel in Funchal.
6 is the alley near the Pestana Carlton hotel, with several restaurants and pubs including the quite good Red Lion.
7 moonlight, feels right.
