On Day 8, we stayed in Marrakech to tour the city. One of the four Imperial cities that have served as the capital of Morocco, Marrakech has over a million people, the fifth largest city
in Morrocco. After an excellent breakfast at the Adam Park Hotel, we first stopped at the Saadian Tombs, from the Saadian dynasty and
particularly from the reign of Ahmad al-Mansur (1578–1603). After, we walked through the colourful shops with spices and local food products until we arrived
at the Bahia Palace, a 19th home for the Morocco vizier, the man (and later his son) who ran the government for the royal family. We ended the morning with a stroll
through Menara Park.
