1 and 2 show a couple more old Victorian homes beside Independence Square.
3 and 4 show the municipal fire hall of Puerto Plata, built in 1930.
5 to 12 show the Fortaleza de San Felipe. The fort's construction was commissioned in 1564 and completed in 1577 to help stop pirates and privateers from raiding the city.
Named for King Felipe II of Spain, it is one of the oldest European structures in the Caribbean, and is the only remnant of the 16th century left in Puerto Plata.
