Above: A bronze saw (missing its handle) and a kymbe with dolphin and ibex designs. A kymbe is an oblong vessel used just like a traditional lamp, and the ibex is a species of wild goat that lives in the mountains.

1 is the gold figurine found inside the remnants of a wooden box, which was inside a clay chest beside the horns of goats.
It is hollow, created by the "lost wax" method, and the legs, neck and tail were soldered on afterwards.
2 shows the desolate land in front of the Astir of Thira Hotel.
3 and 4 show the Astir of Thira Hotel pool.
5 to 7 show the port of Fira, and the zigzaging road up and down the cliffs to get there.
8 is the Peskasi restaurant in the city of Iraklion (or spelled Heraklion), and they make a Kreokakavos, Cretan roast pork with honey sauce.
Cretan restaurants like this one insist on giving a complimentary appetizer and desert, and they even threw in an aperitif beverage.
