Above: Lots of melons right off the truck in El Jadida, a city of about 170,000.
1 and 2 show lonely donkeys, one outside his fence very close to the highway ... there doesn't seem to be very much resembling edible food for him.
3 to 5 show even more farmland.
6 shows one of many toll booths along the main highways.
7 to 9 show us entering the town of El Jadida, including the Afifi Theatre.
10 to 11 show walls around the fortified area of the city. Originally a Portuguese port called Mazagan or Mazagão, they used the city as far back as
the 11th century as a place to drop anchor, but the building only started in 1502, the citadel in 1514, and the fortifications we see today in 1541.
