Above: The Church of Our Lady of Assumption is a Catholic church in the largely Portuguese-built city of Mazagan, now El Jadida in Morocco.
It was built in the early 16th century.
1 shows us walking through the busy El Jadida medina.
2 and 3 show the citadel, built in 1514. Below it is the cistern built by the Portuguese (which we did not visit).
4 and 5 show the fortification walls.
6 and 7 show around the port area of El Jadida.
8 and 9 show in side the turret area of the walls, with colonial-era cannons still stationed there.
10 is the citadel seen from the turret area.
