Above: Ducks congregate around their pond at the El Nispero Zoo. An agronomist who runs a small nursery here, had a large collection of animals
and birds, and over time people donated abandoned or sick animals. The 7-acrero zoo has 55 species of birds, both exotic imports from Asia and Africa,
as well as a few tropical species not seen in any zoo outside Panama. A couple of tapirs were rescued from Manuel Noriega's home after the invasion.
1 to 3 ... some of the many flowers on the zoo grounds, including hibiscus (2).
5 and 9 ... swans.
6 to 8 ... the red-lored amazon birds.
10 and 11 ... parrots (10) and the Golden Pheasant (11).
