Above: Two pictures on the walkway up into the Abbey show monks and nuns enjoying meals. I did not see any monks or nuns while visiting the island.
The 2019 census showed 29 permanent residents of Mont-Saint-Michel, most of them monks and nuns.
1 to 3 show views of the east side of the village, including the ice cream shop with stellar gelato.
4 and 5 show inside St. Peter's Church, and its cemetery just outside looking up to the Abbey.
6 to 10 show views of the bay at low tide and the French coastline, from the North Tower.
